Annual Streamer Awards attracts a record audience
Why does StreamAlive run webinars and workshops that are not about its product?
Weâve been asked this many times.
What has building an online community got to do with StreamAlive?
What has telling a better personal story got to do with StreamAlive?
Why would StreamAlive run a workshop about being compliant with multiple privacy laws?
Itâs a fair question.
Hands up who has attended a webinar by a company only for it to be disguised as a sales pitch?
đââď¸đââď¸
We didnât want to be that kind of company. Besides, thereâs only so many times a person will attend a workshop on how to get better engagement in a webinar (ie. once).
So we run ârandomâ events which we think our users and community will find entertaining, educational, and inspirational.
Why? WellâŚ
Eat our own dog food. By planning and hosting these events we get to experience StreamAlive from our user's perspective and uncover areas for improvement. That alone is a good enough reason we thnik!
We get to learn from the experts. Call us selfish, but when we get people like Suhas Motwani doing a workshop on how to build an online community, itâs because we want to know how we can build an online community.
When Shivangi Nadkarni talked about being compliant with multiple privacy laws, itâs because we wanted to know how to be compliant with multiple privacy laws.
We assume that if itâs something we want to know and learn, then you might want to know and learn it as well. Win-win all around! We want to host events that people actually want to attend again and again. We could (and probably should) create a workshop on how to create a more engaging webinar, but once youâve attended it, you probably wonât attend it again next month and thatâs a problem for point number one about dog food.
By introducing a variety of interesting topics and speakers we get to have a packed audience every time.Helps to introduce StreamAlive to new audiences. The concept of creating visual interactions by asking your audience to âput it in the chatâ is so new that we get people signing up thinking that weâre another Slido or Mentimeter.
When they see StreamAlive in action everything clicks into place, and very often minds are blown, âyou mean itâs as simple as just typing it in the chat?!â
StreamAlive is such a new experience that you have to see in action to fully understand how it is a game-changer for live sessions, in-person or online.
Over the next few months weâre pumped to have confirmed some amazing guests join us on a #StreamAliveShowcase event.
These speakers are all leaders in their respective fields and we believe that they fulfil our goals of entertaining, educating and inspiring our community.

#StreamAliveShowcase building an online community
How would community building master, Suhas Motwani, build a successful online community if he woke up tomorrow and had to start from scratch?
Suhas is a co-founder of The Product Folks, a community of over 180,000 members. Heâs going to teach us the exact steps he would follow if he had to start from the beginning.

How to use analytics to improve your live sessions
This weekâs tip is inspired by facilitation expert Gwyn Wansbrough, founder of Breakthrough Facilitation.
Using the StreamAlive analytics from one of her recent events, she was able to identify which questions were resonating with her audience and which ones needed some work!
Which brings us to our tip:
Trying experimenting with different types of StreamAlive interactions for the same question.
For example, asking what your biggest challenge is for a particular topic could be visualized as a word cloud, Talking Tiles, Transient Thoughts, or even a poll.
Then, use the analytics to find out if you are getting more engagement on a particular visualization.
In our #StreamAliveShowcase events, we often find that polls generate the most engagement, possibly because itâs so easy for the person to participate and they have a low cognitive load.
What weâve been reading
Did you catch the Streamer Awards last week? Over 6.5m tuned in to watch streamer QTCinderalla host the event.
30 different awards in a variety of categories were up for grabs, including best strategy game streamer, best chess streamer, and my personal favorite, the best Minecraft streamer.
The event was a hybrid mix of offline and online, which we think is going to become more popular with award shows in the future.
One thing we did notice is that viewers could choose which camera angle was shown on the stream by typing 1, 2, or 3 in the chat.
Hmm, where have we seen voting in the chat before? đ¤
