How we built the StreamAlive affiliate program
The road to building the affiliate program wasn’t easy, starting with the basic premise: Should a SaaS company have an affiliate program?
I’ve written about our experience of creating this affiliate program on LinkedIn if you want to know more.
The simple gesture all good presenters do 👋
How often have you entered a webinar or a large virtual meeting and been told “we’re just waiting for everyone to join”?
I know that I’m guilty of doing that in the webinars I’ve hosted in the past.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how playing music at the start of your webinar can help set the tone for the session.
One other little detail that the best presenters do at the beginning of their session is to personally welcome the early joiners by their first name.
“Hi Marie, glad you could join us today!”
“Hi Sebastian, thank you for making it!”
It’s such a stupid-simple tip but how many times have you seen it used?
When this tip is combined with StreamAlive’s Magic Maps, you are elevating your webinar or live session to provide a memorable, live experience.
To see how these tips play out in practice, join us for our workshop on Jan 31st on how to tell interesting stories about yourself that help you stand out from the crowd.
What we’ve been reading
This week, MarTech.org interviewed Paddy Dhanda and Grant Wright, founders of The Visual Jam. They were explaining how they used StreamAlive for their events.
As a marketer, we should always be listening to how our users and audience describe our product.
You can then use that language in your marketing material 🥸
For example, at Zoomtopia, the Zoom product folks kept referring to StreamAlive as being powered by the chat stream. So that phrase has made its way into our marketing lingo 🙂
One of the lines by Grant in the MarTech article that stood out to me was:
People just type in the chat and you can just see the poll emerge without having to run a separate interaction or break from the event
Running a poll or a word cloud in a live session is not something new. What is new is how easy and seamless StreamAlive has made it for the audience to participate and for the host to run.
Another quote that inspired me comes from the article's author, Kim Davis.
Meeting chats have big limitations, especially for big audiences. Imagine converting chat to a creative, visual experience.
So thank you, Grant and Kim, I might borrow your words in our future content!
PS. Last week I wrote about MrBeast uploading his videos to X to see how much money he could make from revenue sharing. This week he shared that his video made over $250,000.
PPS. Did you read the one about how a YouTube streamer caused a diplomatic tiff between the UK and China?
